Greetings,
I am Bianca Johnson. I am from Atlanta, Georgia where I also attend Georgia State University. During my studies at GSU I obtained my BA in Middle Level Education with concentrations in Math and Language Arts. I am a single mother to my three year old son, Brayden. Aside from the amazing moments I share with my son I have various hobbies and talents. Sports are very important to me. I enjoying watching just about any sport. However I am only skilled in a few. Including tennis, softball, and football. Following sports, I am very creative. Thanks to my creative side I also enjoy writing, reading, and shopping in Michaels in search of new hobbies. My Philosophy
I strongly believe that every student is not only different culturally, or learns differently, but each student is especially unique in their very own way. In my unit as well as my classroom there will be a mixture of several unique characteristics, skills, and personality bursting with intensity. Not only because I find it important to find creative ways to teach my students, but also creative ways for me to learn from them and about them. Doing so will allow their input, opinions, and self-relevance are valued while my level of confidence as a successful educator will eventually grow. My classroom will display my characteristics as a compassionate educator that is genuine about the students as well as making sure there is plenty of meaningful learning. Doing so by not only making sure their opinions are actually valued but as well as their level of involvement in their learning This will also occur as a part of culture relevance inside of my class that students should be able to transfer elsewhere. Young adolescents want teachers that care about how they feel, what they have to say, and keep them actively involved in their own learning process. Young adolescents crave creativity from educators wishing to express their creativity as well. Young adolescents despise all test and wish they didn’t exist in every class; from common to standardize. Not only do they want these things, these are things that they need. These are things I wish to provide in all of my classes. I will keep all lines open for communication for my parents because I anticipate several questions about what goes on in my classroom. The main concern for my parents will be grades, and what exactly do they look like. Under no circumstances will my students receive a letter grade nor numerical grade on any assignment; only my positive feedback and how they can improve what they already know. Numerical data as well as individual assessments will be kept be me privately, if parents wish to know this information they must be active in their students learning environment. This will maintain a happy classroom environment among my students that will also promote my goal to make every student to feel as equal, smart, and important as others. This should also relieve my students. They shouldn’t have such urgency to just pass assignments, instead to make sure they actually enjoy it and not always expect a grade therefore only putting forth effort for a grade instead of meaningful learning.
